In a world where tomorrow’s discovery makes yesterday’s breakthrough obsolete, parents cannot help wondering as they watch their children careening into the future.

If society maintains its present rate of change, what will their children’s world be like twenty years from now? As traditional values continue to break down, what rules will guide their children as they face challenges yet undreamed of? And as they stand on the threshold of an uncertain future, what should parents do to help them prepare?

Parents should accept as natural their concern about the future of their offspring. It is doubtless prompted by a fervent hope that today’s children develop into tomorrow’s happy and successful adults. But parents can do more than just wonder. They can teach their children a simple goal-setting process that shows them how to achieve success and how to reap the many bonuses that accompany success.

The ability to set and attain realistic goals has far-reaching implications. Because success is the ultimate confidence-builder, the child who establishes goals and works to achieve them reaps the invaluable benefit of greater self-esteem. Each successive achievement generates the momentum to set and attain newer and more challenging goals.

The process is gloriously self-reinforcing. Each success brings a wealth of positive reactions from others, and each compliment or pat on the back contributes to a child’s belief in himself. The end product is a child who grows more confident and secure with each new achievement. And a secure, confident child is far better equipped to deal with the occasional disappointments and losses that are an inevitable part of life.

Goal-setting can be taught to elementary school children and refined to meet their changing needs as they move on to high school. Considering a child’s developmental timetable, 8 years of age is an ideal time for parents to introduce the goal-setting process. The typical 8-year-old is beginning to grasp the concept of cause and effect, and will be capable of understanding that certain desired actions may lead to certain desired ends. In addition to being intellectually ready, the 8-year-old’s differentiation between fantasy and reality has become more firmly established. This enables the child to choose goals that are more realistic and attainable than those a younger child might select.

Time passes so quickly, my little boy is now one year and 8 months. I know that my little boy is a smart kid. He barely speaks few words yet his comprehension is quite remarkable. One thing that he loves to do is to stare at pictures especially that of cartoon character like his favorite Dora the Explorer. The funny thing was that we previously had bought him several books from a store that sell used books but those books are no longer useful now. Why? Well, babies are babies; they don’t know what they are doing, so our little boy has turned the pages apart when he was younger. One day while observing my little boy it came into my mind that I need him to buy him few more books, perhaps coloring book this time so we can teach him how to associate colors to things around him.

Today we went to the mall for some groceries. We also met my husband’s long college friend in the third floor and on our way we again passed by the used books store. We drop by for a while and fortunately found a number of coloring books and story books. They were all so cheap so we get them to the counter and pay for them. My little boy is happy with his new books. However this time I need to keep an eye on him. Why? Well, babies are babies; I am really scared he might eat the crayons.

Reminiscing childhood days make me shed a tear not because we were poor but because of how life was simple. We do not have much when we were kids in fact my parent could not afford a kiddy bicycle for us. So when we were kids with envy we only watch our peers enjoying their bikes and wish that we have our own. Luckily for my husband his family was quite well off when they were kids so his parents were able to buy each of them a bicycle. I told myself that when I am going to be a parent I will make sure that my kids will not experience the sad things that I’ve been through when I am a kid but rather experience the things that I was not able to experience. Well I guess that but normal for all. We would always desire for the best for our dear ones.

A lot of things have changed from bicycle to 3 wheel carts, pedal cars, and now there’s battery powered kiddy vehicle which is commonly known as power wheels. Power wheels are battery powered electric ride on vehicles designed for kids. They come in different models. Seeing them is like viewing miniature models of different tricycle and cars. There’s Jeeps, Honda Minimoto, Peg Perego Gaucho Super Power S Series, Orange County Choppers, Power Wheels Ninja, Power Wheels MX3, Jeep Wrangler, Formula Cars, Mercedes, Porsche, Corvette, Battery Powered Hummer, Ford Mustang, Chevy and more. Every time we stroll in the malls and get to pass by these toys we never fail to get our soon 2 year old little boy into it for him to have a feel of the ride, and wish that he’ll grow very soon because we just can’t wait seeing him driving his toy car.

My in-laws were very much into music. My husband once relates that his mom had bought them 4 guitars and hang it at the living room for them to learn to play the guitar at there own will anytime they want. But none of them found the interest in playing the instrument maybe because mom and dad did not hire a private tutor to teach them how to play it. The case was that, should they desire to play it, they have to look for a friend to teach them how to play guitar. Nevertheless, though none of them became instrumentalist, all of them turned out to be musicians. They all can sing. They developed good voices and they are into choir and a cappella groups.

As parents one of our duties is to train and to expose our children to activities that would develop their personality. We should be looking for one that would help our children boost self-confidence such as getting them to music class and get them to develop some talents. Parent should be guiding their children to a successful life. Some of our kids may have not discovered yet their talents and so parent may have to make the first move of getting them to learn things such as bringing them to music schools and get them to play instruments such as the guitar.

The guitar might be one of the most challenging instruments that our children may learn to play. Parent may look for guitar lessons for kids that are simply good and affordable. As our kids develops their talents in music they also develops their intellects as it has been proven by numerous studies that children who are into music have good reasoning ability and are most likely to excel in academics. Since music is the language of the soul as they say, then kids who plays good music plays a melodious souls. So get kids to music now and start it with a guitar.

My baby has just turn nine months and I am glad to say that my baby’s development is in accord with what the expert were saying. At this age babies stands and moves around by his own with the support of stable holds that he grabs on and can bend his knees. My little son learn to take few steps. He slowly sets down from standing. Every time I cuddle him and stands in front of our main door he tries to hold the door nub and in return I bring him near so he can touch and grab the door nub. We also had observed that he cries every time I repel something from his hand especially fruits or foods that he enjoys. If he wants something and seems that nobody notices him, he also cries.

One thing really amazes me, every time I wash our clothes in the washing machine he turns uneasy not because he is scared with the buzzing sound but simply because he wanted to get near the tub to watch the bubbles twirling. He cries if we put him on his crib. He gets so delighted when we allowed him to touch the bubbles. He enjoys playing with them and we just love watching him wearing those big smiles.

There’s a lot of food prepare by the love ones of the celebrator. Taking pictures with family and friend. Meet new friends. Enjoy watching and participating in funny activities. In some birthday party especially in children’s party it nice to hire a clown just to entertain the celebrant’s guests.

Ella's Birthday

One of my close friend’s two-year-old sister celebrates her birthday last Sunday evening and we had a chance to celebrate with them. They were complete; her brother came all the way home from Manila to Cebu just to celebrate the birthday of their youngest sister. The party was very simple yet full of support and warmth from the celebrators love-ones. Ella has had a great time on her birthday bash.

ella blowing her birthday cake

And our little boy also enjoyed watching of new faces around him. This is his first time to attend a birthday party. He love sing along with the music played. He got very much attracted to the balloons so I tried to bring him near the balloons for him to touch them gently. He is the only little one who graces Ella’s 2nd birthday. Even my little son can’t speak, I know his heart was filled with happiness and may be saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY ATE ELLA…

One morning, when my husband came home from work, his face was happy and excited. That day was the day when their training with windows 7 ends and the launching as well. As a token they were given a fresh copy of the new Operating System and when he got his kit of genuine windows 7, he was so delighted. He has the biggest smile when he showed the item to me and when he relates to me the joy they had upon hearing the announcement and upon getting a hold of their own copy. After that he got busy taking picture the item as he planned to post them on his blog site as well. The sweetest thing was that he had got an instant model; our handsome and adorable son.

One Sunday, while we were on our Sunday morning exercise at a playground near in our house, a plant truly catches my attention. It looks like an artificial ornamental plant. Not contented by just starring from afar I came closer to the plant and I try to touch it. To my surprise the plant was real. I just can’t believe my eye coz it really looked artificial when I looking from the distance and even when you are near. I really enjoyed seeing that plant. It’s one of a kind. I admit that I’ve seen a lot of rare plants and flower in mountain when I was still active with mountaineering they were nice and beautiful. This one too. I appreciate the beauty of every flower at the mountain, and this plant that I’ve seen at the playground of the school, really makes difference. It has a unique color and beauty that I really attract my sight. In fact, I don’t know what kind of plant it was and I don’t even know what it is called.

Every thing in nature will always be good in the sight of every human especially in children. Mothers should expose your little one in the nature, even in their young age. We have to tell them of the creation that were made by our Heavenly Creator.

Cooking is a branch of education which has the most direct influence upon human life. Young women think that it is menial to cook and do other kinds of housework. For this reason, many girl who marry and have the care of families have little idea of the duties devolving upon a wife and mother.

Teach your children on how to cook. In giving your children in physiology, and teaching them how to cook with simplicity and yet with skill, you are laying the foundation for the most useful branches of education.

Mother should take their daughters into the kitchen with them when very young, and teach them the art of cooking. She should instruct them patiently, lovingly, and make the work as agreeable as she can by her cheerful countenance and encouraging words of approval.
