Time travels fast. I started this blog six months after I give birth to our first born son “Zach.” Initially the intention was to have a weekly or monthly account of my son’s activity and growth. Things went well, and for some reason my blog was off its course. Anyhow, I was able to put into account some of my son’s activity until he was a year old. I know I was able to post our first ever Christmas as a family. It was the happiest Christmas and New Year celebration we ever had. We were a family of three for more than two years.

We never thought of celebrating Christmas 2011 and New Year 2012 as a family of four it was never planned. The Lord Almighty is so great for He know exactly what makes us more happy and complete. This holiday season and New Year our hearts are felt with gratitude for the blessings that the Almighty had poured unto us and most of all for the new angel that God added to our family “Zuriel Shane.” Truly this is the start of the happiest New Years of our lives.

This summer one of the things that I would love to do is to shop for my 2 year old boy and for my upcoming baby. I am on my fifth month and I believe it’s the best time to shop for my kids.

My husband and I were athletic back then so we both have our different favorite sport teams such as those in NBA, NFL, and the like. My husband pretty much have a wide collection of jerseys and team T-shirts and I also have few. We thought of having a sporty summer and wearing team shirts will make us look sporty. Perhaps on one day we will be wearing LA Lakers or San Antonio Spurs on another we will be wearing Raiders or Redskins.

We were looking for sports team baby clothes for our 2 year old boy and it’s really hard to look for authentic one. We’ve come across with Babyfans.com and were aghast with the wide choices of baby and infant sport team cloths. Surely our son would have his very own Redskins baby jersey. The page is neat and easy to navigate. You can easily find the baby sport team clothes that you desire to have as they are listed and categorized in the left pane of the window. Their prices are very reasonable. Everything that you may want to know is just right into the page through their helpful links.

Truly Baby Fans is the place that satisfies your hunger for baby sport team clothes. It is simply the best place to get the cutest and high quality baby clothes.

Going to tropical beaches would be one perfect place to go on summer. You can enjoy the plunge on daylight and at night enjoy the heat of the camp fire by the shore. Wouldn’t it be amazing?

Starry Night

Philippines have a lot of beautiful white beaches. Visiting these places on summer is more like visiting a tropical paradise. People walk around the white sands day-in and day-out. Camp fire her and camp fire there at night. People party all night long. Houses and resorts near by also have outdoor fire pit and fireplace in their lawns.

A friend of mine own a home facing the beach in Bora and just on her backyard she places a starry night copper fire dome. The fire pit was unique as it’s standing by its name, its really starry. Its elegant and it gives off romantic atmosphere as soon as fire starts burning on sunset. Her family and friends usually gather around the fire pit in the backyard at night. It is were they chat, drink and sometimes eat dinner.

My family owns a little farm that my father inherited from his parents. It is not much but we like it there. It is where I grow until I was 8 years old. The place is very much developed now since it is where dad devotes his vacation leaves. Father never misses to visit the farm at least three times each month. Every end of the year, my father is obliged to do force leave from their work or else his earned vacation leave could not be used and be forfeited. In these instances my father spends his week long vacation developing our little farm. Sometimes we spend Christmas week in the farm.

Every morning in the farm before breakfast, my father would take time to walk to check his crops. He also checks his durian and coconut plantation. Dad has aged and most of the time he forgets to bring his pair of muck boots to the farm. He only gets to realize that he left them home when it’s time for him to walk around the farm in the morning. As a result, he either roams around the farm on his sleepers or goes barefoot when passing the muddy portion of the farm. Sometime he borrows his brothers muck boots or wears our pair of muck boots, where-in he then would keep on complaining because they’re too tight for him.

Muck boots are essential protection when we go to farms or to muddy, grassy and slippery places. It helps us to feel comfortable moving around watery or muddy places to accomplish some works.

Today we went out to watch Pacquiao versus Margarito boxing match. Before leaving home my husband browsed the internet to see if he’d be able find a live stream of the event. Surely he found several sites but with very poor resolution. So off we go to a pay per view place where we can watch the movie on a wide screen. Well, the fight was great and we all went home celebrating Pacquiao’s victory.

It’s just that, it’s a little bit frustrating now because we realized that we have been doing this every time there’s great program or show that we’d like to watch; we have to leave home and watch the show somewhere else. If only we have Dish TV we could have enjoyed each great show more at home. Dish TV is really great as with them you’d be able to watch your favorite show anywhere you go through your IPod, laptop, or Iphone. Also they have a great deal with offering HD FREE FOR LIFE on all our packages. Isn’t that great? You do not have to pay extra per month to enjoy HD TV! They are straight forward, there are no hidden charges or whatsoever on their programs. Their technology is just great. I can only say Dish TV is #1 and the best satellite TV there is. Their competitors are miles away when it comes to customer service. I guess it’s just right that we did not sign up for any program with some other network yet, Dish network is great and we will surely go for it.

Have you ever been double charged by a cab driver? Believe me it feels like you get robbed. We went on an unplanned vacation together with some Korean friends to witness a festival. We would like to be care free so we did not contact any travel agency to book for our hotel or fix our whereabouts. The vacation that we thought would be exciting turned out to be frustrating.

Things started when we arrive at the airport and took a cab. We asked the driver to drive us to the hotels on our list to check if its not fully booked so can register and have a place to rest for a week. Due to the said festival most of the hotels are fully booked we have to drive from one place to another until we finally found a place to stay. To our dismay the cab driver charged us triple and he have reasons why he charged us that much. We disagree with the charges but we give in because we don’t want any arguments. We were there to have fun. Anyway, we enjoy the rest of the days.

We’ve learned our lesson so this coming winter holidays, as a family we plan of having our vacation on a semi tropical state “Florida.” We are planning to contact a travel agency to help us with our reservations tours and we are also planning to contact Fort Lauderdale car rental as our service transportation to drive us anywhere we go. This time around we’ll be sure that we will have a smooth week long vacation.

What your child will be tomorrow depends on how he is nurtured and cherished today. The quality of his training and the pattern of values inculcated in him will reveal the kind of person he will be.

Will he be a cheerful and pleasant person? Will he be an asset or a liability in society? These are significant questions parents should consider in the training and development of their children.

I have heard some parents say: “Never mind he is still a child”. When some responsible adults meaningfully urge that a child be reprimanded for some mischief, the child’s doting mother would beg: “Be patient with him. He is still a baby”.

This is more often than not tragic because the child is growing without the parents realizing that he is developing into manhood. And because he has been treated like a child all along, even in his maturing years, he behaves like a child. This is one reason we have a lot of childish people around us.

Preparing the child for school is one of the important matters parents should be carefully aware of, for it is in school where most of his waking hours will be spent. They should never consider burdensome the time that they need to spend with the child to teach him values that will help him develop love, patience and obedience. Their home training should teach lessons that will inspire cheerful disposition and encourage resourcefulness and independence. These positive values are the most important wealth parents can bequeath to their children.

There are some parents who leave the home training of their child to the so-called tutor. They have no time for the child, and if they have, the moments that they spend with him usually and in trouble – the mother scolding and berating the child for being very slow in learning and the child feeling guilty and losing confidence in himself.

Parents should direct their child training efforts to the development of self-respect in the child, particularly in his early childhood. How the child feels about himself influences not only his choice but also his decisions. How he will grope in or cope with the world around him will be reflected in his concept of himself. The standard and ideals that parents awaken in their children by way of their example determine, to a large extent, not only their future lifestyle but also how they will face the challenges that come their way.

As parents, we should take stock of our ways of dealing with our growing children. We should reexamine the direction to which we are leading them. What kind of future are we preparing them for? What preparation are we giving them for their future?

Your family may going out for shopping, or for a picnic, or for an appointment. Traveling with a baby or with little kids on board a car be a safe and pleasant experience if you consider the following tips:

Wear a seat belt and ask all passengers to do the same.

Do not use any substitute infant seat or ordinary travel bed for a car seat.

Do not allow two children or a parent and a child to use only one seat belt.

Never let the baby ride in your arms while the car is moving.

Avoid the temptation not to place the baby in a car seat “because we’re traveling only a few blocks.”

Do not leave the rear door of the car open. This lets in exhaust fumes. Also, dangerous objects may come through the open door in a crash.

Do not allow children to play with sharp objects or metals while the car is moving. These objects may accidentally hit them if the car suddenly stops.

Put loose objects inside the car trunk.

A pregnant mother should especially use a seat belt. Until her child is born, she is the baby’s “car seat.” The lap belt must be kept below her uterus, across the pelvic bone, to avoid injury to the baby from the seat belt.

Bring along musical tapes and play them right after buckling the baby in.

Bring along nonchokable snacks like rice cakes or bread. Do not allow kids to suck on lollipops or popsicles or anything with a stick. A swerve or an accident could ram the stick into the kids’ throats.

When driving long distances, make frequent pit stops.

I want to share this story because of the wonderful lesson it brings to our daily life.

One day the father of a very wealthy family took his son on a trip to the country; he wanted to show his son how poor some people can be. They spent a couple days and nights on the farm of what would be considered a very poor family. As they were returning home, the father asked the boy, “How was the trip?”

“It was great, Dad.”

“Did you see how poor people can be?”

“Oh, yeah.”

“So what did you learn from the trip?”

The boy said, “I saw that we have one dog, and they have four. We have a pool that reaches to the middle of our yard, and they have a creek that ahs no end. At night we imported lanterns, and they have the stars.

“Our patio reaches to the front yard, and they have the whole horizon. We have a small piece of land to live on, and they have fields that go beyond our sight. We have servants who serve us, but they serve others.

“We buy our foods, but they grow theirs. We have walls around our property to protect us. They have friends to protect them. “

Then the boy added, Thanks, Dad, for showing me how poor we are!”

Too many times we forget what we have and concentrate on what we don’t have. One person’s worthless object is another’s prized possession. It’s all based on one’s perspective. Makes you wonder what would happen if we all gave thanks to God for all the bounty He has provided instead of worrying about wanting more.

New Year, Birthdays, Thanks giving, Christmas and the like are events that call for a celebration. These are the times when we organize parties and have fun with friends. Celebrating with friends is nothing compares to the happiness found when we celebrate as a family.

As a family we have to gather in special days to celebrate together. This is a time for us to show our love to each other. This is the time for us to tell how much we support each and everyone in the family in what ever good they are doing. This is the time for us to show how much we enjoy each others company. Most especially, this is the time for us to build each other spiritually. Spending time as a family in special days make our joys complete.
