It is important that our child will be dedicated to God. Psalm 127:3 declares, “Lo, children are a heritage from the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward.” That being the case, our first responsibility is to recognize that our children are lives that God has entrusted to us. It becomes our parental responsibility to bring up our children in the ways of the Lord and His word. In Proverbs 22:6 states, “Train up a child in the way he should go (his natural bent) and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

In our baby’s fifth month, we decide to dedicate him to God and we decided to have it done in our place in Butuan City where both our parent are living. That was also our way to visit our families and for them to spend time with our baby.

Child dedication is one of our obligations as parents to bring him to the presence of God and we plead to the church to pray for our child that he may be faithful to God in his life’s journey. And also as parents we realize the needs of our children. At that day, as parent we also dedicate ourselves unto the Lord to bring our child in according to His will. And as parents we submit ourselves to God because we are nothing without Him especially in raising our child to walk on His footsteps
