Painting Techniques
- Use a 2 ¼ or 3-inch brush to online walls and ceilings (a technique known as “cutting”) and extension roller to fill in.

- For rollers, dip roller in tray full of paint then roll it up against tray until saturated.
- Roll paint on the wall in long wall-to-ceiling strokes. Overlaps areas that are still wet to prevent brush marks.

Preparation
- Relocate stuff to another room. Move furniture to center of room and cover with drop cloth.
- Sandpaper blemishes and surfacing compounds.
- Fill cracks and gaps with caulk; hammer flat nailheads and cover them up with spackle (available in hardware stores).
- Cover, moldings, casings, and switch plates with quick-releases tape. Since you are an amateur painting your hands may not be as steady as the average painter.
- Cove floor and base board with old newspapers. A drop cloth may be tucked under the paper for extra layer of protection.
- Sweep floor to reduce dust in the air and prevent it from sticking into wet paint.
- Open windows and turn on electric fans for a well-ventilated work area. You may wear goggles or mask to prevent eye and lung irritation.

Last week while we were arranging our folded clothes in the closet we were overjoyed upon finding out that one of our relatives had gifted us a fine set of linen beddings during our wedding 4 years ago. We did not notice that gift perhaps it was Mom who keep it in there.
While I was fixing our beddings, memories came back to me. My mother loves beddings too, she have collection of bedding that fills one closet. I was still in my teens then when one day my mother changed the bedding of their bed. She kept on saying that it’s nice to have image beddings. My mother is funned of image bedding however my father is not, he likes it plain and simple. Yet, to satisfy her desire she bought 2 image beddings. My father was furious upon knowing that mom purchased them but he was left with no choice. He thought Mom have not outgrown her teenage choices. Mom did not put the beddings on their bed; instead she put them in my room and my brothers.
My heart was filled with joy upon seeing that wonderful green zebra bedding in my room. It’s my favorite color and now my room is livelier than ever. How bout dad? He was delighted upon seeing that our room looked a lot better.
From that time on Mom and Dad started buying image beddings for us. Every time they want to purchase new bedding they go together.
