Spending time with family and friends is inevitably one thing that each of us would love to do. That’s because bonding does not happen everyday and so if given the time, we’d simply do the best out of it. However, there are days wherein bonding moments with family and friends in our backyard would not be possible or would not be long enough because of the weather. Perhaps it’s too cold outside especially on chilly winter days. Having an outdoor fireplace is perfect for backyard activities, it adds to the warm ambiance helping us to stay outside longer even in the coldness of fall and winter mornings. With the help of outdoor fireplace we would be able to do more activities with our love ones. We’d have longer time talking and eating in the backyard while enjoying the magnificent glow.

Outdoor fireplaces also adds beauty to our backyards and verandas. Being able to choose the right style or design as well as right furniture you’d be able to evolve your backyard to an extended living area. Choose a good quality and well designed outdoor fireplace and make sure to also consider its safety features.

Don’t have Time to Exercise!

Suppose that, given your present work schedule, you feel you don’t have time for even the small amount of exercise described in my previous articles. There are other ways you can get exercise. For example, get out of bed a little earlier and use those few minutes in a brisk walk to the bus stop beyond the one you usually use. In the evening, get off the bus two or three stops earlier and walk home.

If you live or work in an elevator building, get off two or three floors below your destination and walk the rest of the way. Stair climbing is terrific exercise. (Remember the London bus conductors.)

Many practical everyday tasks also offer exercise opportunities. Car dirty? Wash and polish it yourself.

Taking a shower in the morning can be a good body builder. While drying, use your towel as a conditioning aid. Place it around the nape of your neck and pull it forward, simultaneously pushing your neck against it hard. Hold for two seconds. Repeat the process with the towel in the small of the back, pushing hard against it by tightening the muscles of your abdomen and buttocks to flatten your back. Hold for two seconds.

And stretch whenever you can. Push your chair away from the desk between assignments and lower and raise your feet, legs fully extended.

Another chair exercise: Grip the arms of the chair firmly, then relax all over, limp as a rag. It’s a fine aid to circulation, too.

Movement is life. Indolence is stagnation, which leads to ill health and early death. Take your choice.

Some Ways of Exercise

Spread feet; hold hands out at shoulder height to each side. Now bend truck forward and fling arms around the right knee. Right knee can bend during the movement. Return to position and repeat to left side. Repeat six to fifteen times.
Stand erect; step sideward with right foot, hands to shoulders. Now breathe in and stretch hands upward while you rise on toes. Come back to starting position in reverse order. Start with four counts and work up to no more than ten movements, adding an extra count every three days until maximum count is reached.
Lie on back. Lift feet off floor about two feet; hold for one second. Lift feet rest of the way up. Lower feet to two-foot position for an additional second before returning feet to floor. Repeat six to fifteen times.
Sit in floor, hands on hips, feet apart. Touch right hand to left toe and then left hand to right toe. Repeat six to fifteen times.
Stand, then squat, hands on floor near feet. Kick feet backward so trunk and legs are now straight. Bend arms and “dip” (do a push-up). Return to standing position and repeat.
Stand erect, feet apart, hands at neck. Bend trunk to left as you raise arms upward. Return to starting position and repeat to right side. Repeat six to fifteen times.
Stand erect, hands on hips. Raise right foot sideways, kick high, and return. Do same with left leg. Repeat six to fifteen times.
Run in place, raising arms and legs vigorously. Start with ten steps with each leg, work up to twenty.
Stand erect, hands on hips. Draw head backward and to the right. Do same to the left. Repeat six to fifteen times.

Photography becomes everybody’s passion. More and more people are into it especially now that digital cameras are becoming affordable. Photography has various types. One of the most common and is basically enjoyed by learning photo enthusiasts is Macrophotography. It is a kind of photography in which pictures are taken at close range. Macrophotography is now easier for amateurs to practice with digital cameras with macro settings. Macrophotography subjects may include flowers, animals, and any object where close-up photography reveals interesting details.

Being a lover of the great outdoors, my husband and I always bring our digital camera with us. We enjoy every photo we get and we really treasure them because we know that such moment pass just once. We are looking forward on getting more wonderful photographs that is why we are checking digital camera reviews as well as attend photography workshops. Hopefully, before the years end we’d be able to buy our entry level DSLR.

Easy Cleaning With Trunk Liners

Semester breaks and holidays are my favorite time back my university years. Why? When I and my husband were still active at mountain climbing we use to climb distant mountains together with our local mountaineering group on either semester breaks or other long holidays. Mountain climbing and camping is fun but never easy. When planning for a climb, a lot of things are to be considered; have to secure permit to climb, have to get ready with the supplies, and days before the actual climb one should clear the area. It would really be a great advantage if your group has a service truck to transport the team back and fort.

The truck has also got to be prepared for the clearing and the climb day. The worst part after the fun is not the muscle pains but the cleaning. Cleaning time would be double or triple because most likely mud and dirt get stuck on the floor of the truck trunk. It was a good thing that on our next few climb we put in trunk liners. It really saves our time as cleaning the trunk liners is a lot easier than cleaning and drying the truck and trunk floor. Well, hassles after the climb doesn’t really matter much. The most important thing is that you enjoy life and enjoy the outdoors.

All Terrain Vehicle

My husband and I was outdoor enthusiast. We were very active in outdoor activities when we were still single. I use to go mountain climbing, trekking, and caving with my friends. My husband on the other hand does rock climbing, mountain climbing, trekking, caving and all sort of little bit extreme outdoor fun. He also loves driving bikes which for him is convenient but I am not in favor of because of too much danger in the road. Being an outdoor enthusiast my husband is looking forward on owning an ATV or All Terrain Vehicle which he said would also be perfect when brought to our little mountainous farm in the province. He said that having an ATV at our mountainous farm would be so convenient and that he can make all the fun there is with an ATV. I also told him that driving an ATV as his service vehicle around the city or to work would be great because it’s safer than a 2 wheeled bike. He actually thinks that its cool but I sensed that he is not buying my idea.

I often wonder why my husband’s tax refunds vary every end of the year. There were years when the refund was little, there were also years were the refund was just great. There was also a year that we never get a tax return. I kept on asking how refund is calculated. Why do we get a tax refund?

A friend told me that the refund depends on how much tax is being withheld from your monthly pay. If your payroll department does its job right, you should get NO TAX REFUND. That is because they should be withholding only the exact amount of taxes due, each and every month. Furthermore, If your payroll department is withholding too much, either by mistake or to cover contingencies, you should get a tax refund at the end of the year. If you think about it, this “tax refund” is money you have earned but did not get to use until the end of the year.
